Can you summon a sea serpent in 'Sea of Thieves' on Epic Games to tow your ship?

Sea of Thieves’ ships are slow, and a sea serpent tow would save time. Do you need to feed a sea serpent 20 'Giant Fish' caught in the Deep Sea? Does summoning it let it wrap around your ship and tow it at 2x speed, even against strong currents?
