Can you tame a raccoon in 'Red Dead Redemption 2' on Epic Games to find herbs?

RDR2’s herbs are hard to find, and a raccoon’s sense of smell would make it easier. Do you need to feed a raccoon 4 berries and craft a 'Raccoon Collar' from leather? Does the tamed raccoon sniff out rare herbs like 'Yarrow' and 'Indian Tobacco', marking them with a green glow, and even dig up hidden herb patches?
