Cleaning your Switch Dock’s charging port ensures the console charges properly. First, unplug the dock from power and remove the Switch. Use a dry cotton swab to gently clean the charging port (located at the bottom of the dock where the Switch connects). Twist the swab to remove dust and debris, being careful not to bend any pins inside the port. For stubborn debris, use a can of compressed air—hold the can 6 inches away from the port and spray short bursts to dislodge dust. Avoid using metal tools or sharp objects, as they can damage the port’s pins. If there’s sticky residue, dampen a cotton swab with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol (70%), wipe the port gently, and dry it immediately with a clean swab. Reconnect the power adapter and test charging—if the Switch still doesn’t charge, the port may be faulty and need repair.
