If your Switch overheats, immediately turn it off and move it to a cool, well-ventilated area—avoid direct sunlight or enclosed spaces like bags. For docked mode, ensure the dock’s vents are unobstructed; use a cooling fan attachment if you play graphically intensive games for hours. In handheld mode, remove any thick cases that trap heat. Lower the screen brightness and disable features like HD rumble to reduce power consumption. If overheating persists, check for dust buildup in the console’s vents—use compressed air to blow out debris. Never use the Switch while charging if it’s already hot, as this increases heat output. If the console shuts down repeatedly due to overheating, contact Nintendo Support.
