Fixing Switch Wi-Fi disconnects ensures smooth online gameplay and downloads. Move the Switch closer to the router—reduce distance and avoid obstacles like walls or metal objects that block the signal. Update your router’s firmware to the latest version, as manufacturers often release fixes for connectivity issues. Change the router’s Wi-Fi channel: use a tool like Wi-Fi Analyzer to find a less crowded channel (2.4GHz: 1, 6, 11; 5GHz: 36-48, 149-165). Switch to 5GHz Wi-Fi if available—it’s less prone to interference than 2.4GHz. Disable other devices on the network while using the Switch—streaming, gaming, or large downloads on other devices cause Wi-Fi congestion. Restart the router by unplugging it for 30 seconds, then plugging it back in. If disconnects persist, use a wired Ethernet adapter for the Switch Dock, which provides a stable, uninterrupted connection.
