Transferring games from Switch’s internal storage to a microSD card frees up space. Insert the microSD card into the Switch (located behind the kickstand on standard Switch/OLED). Go to 'System Settings' > 'Data Management' > 'Move Data Between System/microSD Card'. Select 'Move to microSD Card'—you’ll see a list of games installed on internal storage. Choose the games you want to transfer, then select 'Move Data'. The transfer time depends on the game size—small games take a few minutes, while large ones (e.g., 'Tears of the Kingdom') take 15-20 minutes. Do not turn off the console during transfer, as this can corrupt data. Once complete, the games will launch from the microSD card, and save data remains on the console. You can also set the microSD card as the default download location: go to 'Data Management' > 'Download Location' and select 'microSD Card'.
