Switch Cloud Saves (for Switch Online subscribers) automatically back up your save data to the cloud. To enable them, go to 'System Settings' > 'Data Management' > 'Save Data Cloud' and toggle 'Auto-Backup' on. Most games support cloud saves, but exceptions include 'Animal Crossing: New Horizons' and 'Pokémon Scarlet & Violet'. To manually back up a game, select it in the 'Save Data Cloud' menu and choose 'Back Up Now'. If you get a new Switch, sign in to your Nintendo Account and go to 'Save Data Cloud' > 'Download Save Data' to restore your progress. Cloud saves expire if your subscription lapses, so renew it to keep your data safe.
