Playing digital Switch games offline requires setting your console as the primary Nintendo Account. Go to 'System Settings' > 'User' > 'Nintendo Account' > 'Primary Console' and select 'Set as Primary Console'. This lets you play digital games offline on that console, even if the internet is unavailable. Download the game while online—once downloaded, it’s stored on the console or microSD card, so you can play offline. Save data is stored locally, so your progress is safe without Wi-Fi. Note: If you’re not the primary user, you can only play digital games offline if the primary user is not playing online. Some games require a one-time online check to verify ownership, but after that, they work offline. DLC for digital games must be downloaded online, but once installed, it works offline. When traveling, ensure your favorite digital games are downloaded before leaving Wi-Fi range.
