If your Switch Dock isn’t charging the console, start by checking the power supply. Use the official Nintendo power adapter—third-party adapters may not provide enough power. Ensure the adapter is plugged into a working outlet and the dock’s power light is on (orange for charging, green for charged). Check the dock’s USB-C charging port for debris: use a dry cotton swab to clean it, or compressed air to blow out dust. Ensure the console is properly seated in the dock—align with the rails and push down firmly until you hear a click. Try charging the console directly with the power adapter (not via the dock) to rule out a faulty dock. Restart the Switch by holding the power button for 15 seconds, then place it back in the dock. If charging still fails, the dock’s charging port or the console’s USB-C port may be faulty—contact Nintendo Support for repair.
