If your Switch Dock isn’t detecting the console, start by ensuring the Switch is properly seated. Align the console with the dock’s rails and push down firmly until you hear a click—misalignment is a common issue. Check the dock’s power supply: use the official Nintendo power adapter, ensure it’s plugged into a working outlet, and look for the dock’s power light (orange or green). Inspect the dock’s USB-C charging port for debris—use a dry cotton swab to clean it, or compressed air to blow out dust. Try a different HDMI cable and TV input to rule out display issues. Restart the Switch by holding the power button for 15 seconds, then place it back in the dock. Update your system firmware to the latest version, as outdated software can cause detection problems. If the dock still doesn’t detect the console, the dock’s internal hardware may be faulty—contact Nintendo Support for repair.
