Nintendo offers free Joy-Con drift repairs even if your console is out of warranty. Joy-Con drift (unintended movement of analog sticks) is a known issue, and Nintendo has extended coverage for it. To request a repair, go to Nintendo’s support website, select 'Joy-Con Drift' as the issue, and follow the prompts to send in your controllers. You’ll need your Switch’s serial number (found on the bottom of the console) and proof of purchase (optional). Repairs typically take 1-2 weeks, and Nintendo covers shipping both ways. If your Joy-Cons are under the original 1-year warranty, the repair is also free. Third-party Joy-Cons may have their own warranties, but official Nintendo controllers are the only ones eligible for Nintendo’s drift repair program.
