Switch Joy-Con Sync Issues: How to Fix Unresponsive Controllers

If your Joy-Cons won’t sync to your Switch, start by resetting them. Press and hold the SYNC button on the Joy-Con (located next to the strap connector) for 5 seconds, then release. On the Switch, go to 'System Settings' > 'Controllers and Sensors' > 'Change Grip/Order' and press the SYNC button on the Joy-Con again. If syncing wirelessly fails, attach the Joy-Cons directly to the Switch—they should sync automatically. Check the Joy-Con battery level—low battery can cause sync issues; charge them using the dock or charging grip. Update your system firmware and Joy-Con firmware: go to 'System Settings' > 'System' > 'System Update' and 'Controllers and Sensors' > 'Update Controllers'. If the issue persists, contact Nintendo Support.
