Hades is a roguelike game on consoles, where you play as Zagreus, trying to escape the Underworld, with each run offering new abilities and story beats, but what about its roguelike structure—did the fact that you die repeatedly feel frustrating, or did the constant unlocks (new weapons, abilities, or story bits) keep you motivated to try again? How did the game’s writing (with its witty dialogue and well-developed characters like Hades, Persephone, and Thanatos) make you care about the story, even though you were restarting often?
