Half-Life: Alyx is a PC-exclusive VR FPS often called the ‘killer app’ for VR headsets, as it showcases what the technology can do with physics-based interactions and a rich story. For PC players who’ve played Alyx with a Valve Index, Oculus Quest 2 (tethered to PC), or another high-end VR headset, what specific aspect of the game made it feel most immersive—was it the ability to physically pick up and manipulate objects (like reloading a gun by inserting a magazine), the detailed sound design that makes enemies feel nearby, or the way the world of City 17 feels lived-in and responsive? Additionally, Alyx requires a powerful PC to run smoothly in VR, with minimum specs including a GTX 1060 and i5-7500—what specs do you have, and did you encounter any frame drops, lag, or motion sickness during intense sections (like fighting Headcrabs in tight corridors) that broke the VR immersion? Finally, as a key part of the Half-Life universe, do you think Alyx is a must-play for long-time Half-Life fans, even if they don’t currently own a VR headset, or is the VR experience so integral to the game that playing it without VR would ruin the core appeal?
